Enjoying the Dominionesque gameplay, but the generic sky background and childish bubbles don’t go well with the theme for me. It would be cool if you could change the background to different terrain—maybe temples or somesuch—and change the card animation to something other than the bubbles. How about an animation where the creatures leapt out of your deck, the lands sprouted up, and the buildings came across the horizon as if approached from a distance? Something more immersive.

That is an interesting idea!
Given that we are taking our creatures from various mythologies, it was tricky to decide what the backgrounds should be. In fact, originally one of the backgrounds we tried had a mountain with various temples of different types on its slope.
We also wanted to move away from digital cards to something closer to plastic figurines, since we could model animations for the creatures in 3D rather than just have 2D picture art. Given this, the game has a lighter motif. This is also reflected in the sounds.
Your suggestions are consistent with the idea that this is a computer game with card game rules, rather than a card game being redone as a computer game. We'll add these to our list of enhancements.
Thanks!
